Auckland: City of Sails

Wed, Feb. 9
What a productive day!  We walked and walked, and walked some more, and really got a chance to explore some of Auckland's more popular neighborhoods.
After arriving at our hotel in the Parnell area, we checked out Parnell Street, a funky street full of coffee shops, restaurants, fashion boutiques and interior design stores.  Stopped at the Verve Cafe for a delicious late brekkie of delicious bacon and eggs in a sandwich, and the best mocha I've ever had!  Highly recommend this place.
After breakfast, we felt much more refreshed.  Spent the rest of the morning walking around Parnell and strolled through a few gardens, including a beautiful Rose Garden that had the most colorful varieties of roses I've ever seen!  After checking into our hotel in mid afternoon, and trying not to fall asleep, we headed out again towards downtown Auckland on foot.  Their downtown is very busy, full of pedestrians, cars and buses, sort of reminded us of Vancouver.  Their harbour doesn't quite match Sydney's Darling Harbour, but it's still looks like a fun area to hang out, lots of restaurants and bars.

We hopped on the Green Link Bus to tour us around the rest of Auckland's Inner City, and for around 2 bucks, it was a great deal.  Got to bed around 1030 and both had a great sleep.  Ready for another day!
