...to LAX. After waiting in Calgary for over an hour for our flight because our plane was in storage and needed to be towed to our gate, and then getting de-snowed and de-iced, we made it!!! To L.A., after a very bumpy flight over California. Was happy to watch the movie The Social Network during the flight - was pretty good, but I think I'd be more impressed if I actually USED Facebook! Like some of my friends...you know who you are. :)
Since we had a 5 hour layover in LA, Barry and I decided to use good ole public transit and hit a shopping mall nearby. Took the #6 Culver City bus for a buck to the gigantic Westfield Culver City mall - only a 20 minute bus ride from the airport bus terminal. Barry broke down there and bought a new Sony pocket E-Reader from Best Buy. Good thing it's only "wafer thin" and can fit in our already stuffed carry on!! Anyways, have to say that LA's airport shuttles and city buses rock for speed, efficiency, and affordability. I'm pretty sure you couldn't have hit a shopping mall easily from Calgary's airport using only public transit, although never tried it.
